My mom and I were planning my wedding and reception and I was totally shocked at all there was to take care of. I never realized how much work goes into the planning. We started with our invitations and got that out of the way and in the mail. Then we took care of the bridal dresses and everything we needed for the rest of the wedding party. We already had the church and reception hall reserved, so now we had to start concentrating on the reception itself. We had to make sure of the seating arrangements. We didn’t want to put Uncle Dave anywhere near Uncle Bob. They have been at war with each other ever since I can remember. In fact there were a few relatives we had to make sure to keep separated as much as possible. After the seating chart was done we started on the reception supplies and accessories we needed. Our wedding cake we chose was an gorgeous three tier chocolate truffle cake with an awesome white frosting and plenty of beautiful red and pink roses. Now I needed to decide on a cake topper. I knew I wanted to have a monogrammed cake topper, but I couldn’t decide on which one. There were so many beautifully designed monogrammed wedding cake toppers to choose from. My mom was really taken with the silver monogram cake toppers and thought we should have one of those for our cake. But I kind of took a liking to the crystal monogram cake toppers. I love anything crystal. I ordered crystal champagne glasses and a gorgeous crystal handled serving set for our wedding table.
Even though we disagreed on the monogram wedding cake toppers, I could see her point and the reason she liked the silver ones the best. They were pretty awesome monogram cake toppers. But as much as I love my mom and value her opinion, this is my wedding, so I decided to go with my first choice. I went with the monogram cake topper made of crystal. I felt it would really go nice with all the crystal I already had for our bridal table. It was really quite beautiful and will look so awesome on our cake. It is a bowl shaped wedding monogram cake topper with our last initial in the middle and each of our first initials on each side. To me, it was the best in the cake topper monogram selection that they had. Even though there were so many lovely cake monogram toppers to choose from. Mom understood, but still insisted the silver would have been better. I did take her advice on the centerpieces and the place cards and holders though. She did choose some beautiful holders for our reception tables. She even found some adorable little wedding favors for each of our guests. They were calla lily gel candles that will look so exquisite on our tables along with all the flowers and other décor. She was really a big help in planning and helping me get everything set up for my wedding and reception. We had all the catering vendors taken care of and the band for the reception. All my fiancé and I had to handle was our honeymoon plans, and we already knew where we were going for that. So all that was left to do now was wait for the big day. I showed my fiancé the gorgeous wedding cake topper I chose and the one my mom picked out. I wanted to get his opinion, but he said it didn’t really make a difference, that whatever I picked out would be fine. I guess planning weddings is more of a woman thing.
